Charity abseil for Charlie’s 3rd birthday

August 4th 2019 would have been Charlie’s 3rd birthday. To honour his birthday, and to remember the little boy who set the wheels in motion that would create a national charity, and begin to change UK laws, a group of 15 supporters will be taking on the challenge of abseiling down the ArcelorMittal Orbit at the Olympic Park in London.

Charlie’s dad, Chris Gard, and Head of Communications and Fundraising for the charity, Stephanie Roundsmith, will also be taking on this challenge as the first part of their ‘double abseil’. Not only will they be taking on the ArcelorMittal Orbit on Sunday, they will also be abseiling down the British Airways i360 in Brighton on Saturday 17th August.

If you’d like to support Chris and Steph as they tackle this challenge, you can do so here. Any support – whether that’s a donation or a simple share of the page – would be greatly appreciated.

All funds raised from their abseils will go directly to their new research campaign that was launched in Charlie’s memory on July 29th 2019. The funds will help support the current research project, and enable the charity to fund further research projects into viable treatments for mitochondrial diseases, and help us to find that all elusive cure.

Good luck to everyone involved in the abseil. You’re helping us create a brighter, mito future.
