On Saturday 27th October 2018 Connie and Chris attended a very special event called The Butterfly Awards. The inspirational ceremony and dinner brings together the champions and survivors of baby loss, and brings much needed awareness to a topic that is so often hidden away.
Connie and Chris were nominated for one of the special awards, the Advocate Awareness award, but sadly it wasn’t their night and the award went to a very deserving individual who had been affected by baby loss and was selflessly giving back to the baby loss community.
The awards is organised as an annual event and is very much an important date in the baby loss calendar. Connie and Chris were most humbled to be in the presence of such a wonderful community of people all bearing the weight of child loss, but the evening was also a celebration of life, and an opportunity to remember those who we carried but couldn’t meet, those we met but couldn’t bring home, and those who came home but couldn’t stay.
If you wish to find out more information about the awards, or to nominate someone for an award, then please visit their website here.
Connie and Chris continue to work tirelessly as awareness advocates for the mito community with all the work they undertake through the foundation, and also continue to campaign for parental rights through the Charlie’s Law campaign to ensure no other family has to to experience the same issues they experienced whilst trying to seek treatment for their son, Charlie, in 2017.
